Stephen M. Robertson, Chairman

As Chairman of Shelter Bay Retail Group, Steve’s philosophy is that you don’t just manage a property, you treat each property as if it were your own. This commitment demands that an extraordinary degree of service be provided to each property at all levels throughout Shelter Bay.

Beginning his career as a practicing real estate attorney, Steve shifted his focus to real estate development in 1981 when he founded Shelter Bay Properties, a development, leasing and management company. Identifying the need to provide focused management to retail real estate owners, he and Sondra Van Metre formed Shelter Bay Retail Group in 1986.

More than 25 years later, Shelter Bay has prospered and Steve is recognized throughout the industry for his unique ability to identify creative opportunities for owners, as well as his talent in finding innovative solutions to challenges.

Steve graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and received his JD from Hastings College of Law. Steve is a member of the California Bar Association, as well as a licensed California real estate broker.

Sondra Van Metre, President & Chief Executive Officer

As President and Chief Executive Officer of Shelter Bay Retail Group, Sondra guides development and planning for the company while overseeing all operations, including financial reporting, management and client relations. Ultimately, Sondra maintains responsibility for all aspects of Shelter Bay’s direction and performance.

Sondra has been an integral part of Shelter Bay Retail Group since its inception, joining Steve in 1986 as a partner. Together they recognized the opportunity to provide an entrepreneurial, ownership-oriented retail management service to fill a void in an industry dominated by corporate managers. The combined vision of Sondra and Steve, along with their ability to execute, has been the driving factor in the success of this dynamic company.

Sondra has over 25 years of experience in retail property management, including tenures with Fox and Carskadon Financial Corporation and Laventhol and Horwath. She earned a Bachelor of Science from California State University, Hayward, and an MBA in Real Estate Finance from Golden Gate University. Sondra is a licensed California real estate broker.

Elizabeth Ringbom, CSM, Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer of Shelter Bay Retail Group, Elizabeth oversees the property management functions of the company including client and tenant relations, lease administration, construction supervision, budgeting and marketing for the company’s portfolio. Retailers and owners alike recognize her hands-on approach to management and creative solutions. Her tenacity achieves results for owners, giving her a reputation for turning mediocre properties into top performers.

Under Elizabeth’s direct supervision is Shelter Bay’s team of professional property managers. Along with her team, she oversees all property operations and reporting, lease negotiations, renewals and extensions, coordinates leasing activity and oversees preparation of lease documentation.

With more than 25 years of experience in retail real estate property management, Elizabeth has extensive experience in management, strategic planning, development and renovation of shopping centers. She received her BA from Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles, California, and has earned her Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) designation from the International Council of Shopping Centers. Elizabeth is a licensed California real estate salesperson and a licensed Arizona real estate broker.

Michael A. Reyff, Controller

As the Controller of Shelter Bay Retail Group, Michael oversees the financial reporting and information services for the company including accounting, treasury management, budgeting, financial analysis and the management of multiple accounting systems that include Yardi and MRI. His extensive experience enables his team to produce insightful reporting that is instrumental to improving the performance of the shopping centers under management.

Under Michael’s direct supervision is Shelter Bay’s professional team of highly experienced property accountants.With his team, he consistently meets the complex and timely reporting requirements for over 40 retail shopping centers for a diverse group of institutional clients.

Michael has over twenty five years of diverse real estate property management and development experience that includes a specialty in retail shopping center management. Michael has extensive experience in leading teams of property accountants in meeting the complex reporting requirements and deadlines of major institutional real estate investment clients. His clients have included Prudential Real Estate, Equitable Real Estate, The Irvine Company, CalPers, Lehman Brothers and LaSalle Investment Management.

Michael received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting from San Francisco State University and completed the Uniform Certified Public Accountants Examination.

Tanya C. Keshishian, Regional Director, Southern California

As Regional Director, Tanya oversees all projects located in the Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside County areas and supervises all Southern California personnel. Her responsibilities include client and tenant relations, budgeting, marketing and promotional activities. Tanya also coordinates leasing activity for these properties and oversees the preparation of all lease documentation.

For more than 15 years, Tanya has been actively involved in real estate and property management in Southern California. She has a solid background in retail management and financial reporting for various types of retail centers and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. Tanya is a licensed California real estate salesperson.

Terri Henry, Regional Director, Central California

As Regional Director for Shelter Bay Retail Group, Terri is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of retail shopping centers. Her responsibilities include client and tenant relations, lease administration, budgeting, marketing and promotional activities. She also retains and supervises vendors for the performance of all maintenance activities. In addition to her operational responsibilities, Terri coordinates leasing activity and oversees the preparation of all lease documentation.

Terri has over 15 years of experience as a Property Manager with extensive experience in the Northern and Central California trade areas. Prior to joining Shelter Bay Retail Group in 2005, Terri worked for Pan Pacific Retail Properties managing roughly 2.2 million square feet of neighborhood retail shopping centers. Terri is a licensed California real estate salesperson.
